  WILLIAM "GORD" SOUTHAM (1935-2020)

William (Gord) Southam (1935 – 2020) was a very respected and dedicated member of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (SPEBSQSA). Gord joined the Winnipeg Golden Chordsmen Chorus in 1970 and enjoyed singing Barbershop harmony for 49 years. He served as the Chapter’s House and Wardrobe manager for many of those years and was the Membership VP in ’88. Although Gord was not very active in recent years, he was a regular attender at the Annual and Christmas shows. He continued his singing with the Happy Homesteaders Chorus. Gord was a generous supporter of Sing Canada Harmony. In the Barbershopping world, we say that Gord has joined the Chapter Eternal. He was a fine gentleman and a proud Lead singer.

His loving personality and offbeat sense of humour will be missed by all of us in his immediate and extended family, and his wide circle of friends.
